After a long wait and organization, the field measurement series of the REVITAL I (ENI CBC-HUSKROUA) program has started.
In the first phase, electrical and electromagnetic geophysical measurements are carried out. With these methods we can map the exact shape of the soda powder, the location and size of the cavities and cuts in them. In the vicinity of soda ash, the assemblages influencing the hydrogeological flow (gravel, sand, clay and their combination) are also determined.
In parallel, we started designating the monitoring system. To collect water flow data, we install Dataqua type water level recorders in existing wells.
Tracer tests are performed to determine water flow directions and access times. The applied Tinopal and Fluorescein are non-hazardous tracers that are widely used internationally.
The planning and feasibility of measurements and tests are strongly influenced by the interoperability of the Hungarian, Romanian and Ukrainian borders and the accompanying quarantine obligation.
