Professional Discussion on the Fieldwork of the REVITAL I Project

On June 1, 2020 Mikhailo Rivis, President of the Transcarpathian County Council, Co-President of the Tisza EGTC held a professional meeting attended by Tisza EGTC staff – Judit Jevcsák, Deputy Director and Karolina Dancs, Project Manager – and János Kocserha, Deputy Mayor of Solotvyno City Hall as a project partner. The topic of the meeting was the smooth start of the fieldwork of the REVITAL I project, which will start immediately after the release of the quarantine situation and the opening of the border.

All planned activities on the Solotvyno Salt Mine project have been approved by the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine, which has jurisdiction over the mining area. However, a number of official permits and approvals are still required for smooth operation, as the project and related research are being carried out in a border area.

Therefore, József Barta, Vice-President of the Transcarpathian County Council, Ihor Sinkarjuk, Deputy Chairman of the Transcarpathian County State Administration, Vasil Makovsky, Head of the Department of the Transcarpathian County Council, Oleksandr Bohash, Head of the Transcarpathian County Council, Oleksandr Bohash , Head of the State Service for Emergencies, Yuri Lesjo, Director of the Agricultural Development Directorate of the Transcarpathian County State Administration, Yuri Sponták, Director of the Ecological Directorate of the Transcarpathian County State Administration Ecological Department Mikhailo Polazhinec, Acting Head of the Técső District Administrative Office, Oleksandr Poshtuk, Acting Director of the State Enterprise “Production Directorate for the Liquidation of the Solotvyno Salt Mine”, Serhii Proskura, Director of the Lami Company, representatives of the Chop and Mukachevo Border Guard and the Transcarpathian Security Service.

The meeting was opened by Mikhailo Rivis, who thanked for the participation and stressed the importance of the successful implementation of the project, for which he expects maximum effort from everyone. He then gave the floor to Judit Jevcsák, Deputy Director of the Tisza EGTC, who briefly presented the project and the activities carried out so far. She stressed that the most exciting part of the project, the launch of the field work, has now arrived, for which the support and the permission of the representatives of the presented organizations are essential. She gave more information about when and what field work the employees of the University of Miskolc and the Geogold Kft seated in Budapest plan to carry out during the next year. The importance of implementing the project was all appreciated by all and they assured the President that they would be actively involved in its successful implementation.

Minutes were taken of the meeting, which include the relevant tasks and will be sent to all participants. With the signature of President Rivis, an official letter will be sent to the competent authorities with a request to assist the successful implementation of the project and the fieldwork carried out by foreign experts in accordance with their own competencies.

As professional issues also arose during the meeting, the participants agreed to hold a similar meeting with Hungarian experts during the first expert visit in Solotvyno in order to further clarify the professional issues.
