The evolution of the epidemic situation did not allow a personal meeting of the partners, so we had a Skype meeting in the frame of the REVITAL I project in July 2020 as well. The good news is that despite the strict quarantine situation and the difficult border crossing, there are positive results in the progress of the project.
Since July 6, 2020 Geogold Kft. 15 of his employees visited Solotvyno and started field work, thanks to the effective intervention of the Uzhhorod office of the Tisza EGTC. Márton Bujdosó informed the partners that the field measurement series is slowly coming to an end. Electrical and electromagnetic geophysical measurements are currently underway, and Dataqua-type water level recorders are being installed in existing wells to collect water flow data. The research will continue until August 5, 2020. After the researchers will return home and prepare an analytical report on the results of the current phase of the research.
Unfortunately, neither the University of Miskolc nor the management of the Technical University of Košice allow their lecturers and researchers to travel abroad, so they will only be able to do the field work at a later date. As the state institutional status of both higher education institutions changed to foundation status, the level of state co-financing also changed for both partners, which justifies the amendment of the main contract. At the moment, the partners are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
The Solotvyno City Hall and the Municipality of Sighetu Marmatiei are working on the successful conduct of public procurement procedures. The Institute of Geological Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine is developing a hydrodynamic model, on the basis of which further research of the project will be conducted under the leadership of the University of Miskolc. The partners agreed to hold the next partnership meeting in August 2020.
