At the meeting of the Supervisory Board of the Tisza EGTC in Uzhhorod on 12 April, the idea was born to provide 1,500 Ukrainian citizens who were displaced from their homes and are currently housed in public institutions in Uzhhorod with a sacred Easter food parcel, thus making the holiday more pleasant for them.
The 1,500 Easter hams were provided by the Self-government of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Family, Opportunity and Volunteer House run by the Hierotheosz Association, the Archdiocese of Hajdúdorog and the Agricultural and Food Association of Agrarian Future, the Easter cake was provided by the Transcarpathian County Council, and the smooth crossing of the border and thus the delivery of the valuable donation to its destination was ensured by the Tisza EGTC.
On Saturday, 23 April 2022, Oszkár Seszták, President of the General Assembly of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, President of Tisza EGTC, Volodimir Csubirko, President of the Transcarpathian County Council, Co-President of Tisza EGTC, István Kapin, President of Hierotheosz Association, András Kiss, Member of the General Assembly Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County, József Bacskai, Consul General of the Consulate General of Hungary in Uzhhorod, Andrea Szabóné Cap, Director of Tisza EGTC and Judit Jevcsák, Deputy Director of Tisza EGTC personally delivered the donation to the Ukrainian families celebrating Easter on Julian calendar far from their homes and families.
The Archbishop-Metropolitan of the Archdiocese of Hajdúdorog, Fülöp Kocsis, and Bishop Nílus, Apostolic Administrator of the Greek Catholic Diocese of Mukachevo, jointly consecrated the Hungarian-Ukrainian donation, which was then distributed to the needy.
