Meet our PLANNING4U project

Cooperation of local communities in the HU-RO-UA border region for joint development planning, capacity and partnership building

Information about the project:

The main objective of the Planning4U project is to address institutional capacity deficiencies and the challenges caused by Ukraine’s administrative reform, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. Through development plans and cross-border impact studies, the participating regions will be able to strengthen their economic and social relations and prepare for Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. The project will also organize professional training courses, equipping participants with essential project management and funding application writing skills. These competencies will contribute to enhancing cross-border cooperation and ensuring the sustainable development of the region.

Results and Long-Term Impact

As a result of the project, 14 development plans for micro-regions in Transcarpathia and 3 development strategies for localities in Satu Mare County will be developed, providing local authorities with the necessary foundation to prepare planning documentation in compliance with current legislation. The synthesis of the development plans and impact studies carried out within the project will contribute to future joint planning efforts in the HU-RO-UA border region and, more broadly, within the European Union.
