On July 11, in Satu Mare, the booklet titled “Minority Language Rights in Romania – Practical Questions and Answers” was presented within the framework of the project Language APL. It details the minority language rights and obligations in Romania, based on the applicable legislation. The staff of the Identitas Foundation, with the help of a legal advisor, provided answers to the 20 most frequently asked questions in a clear and accessible manner, alongside Hungarian-language translations of the laws. The aim of the publication is to support the national minorities in the country in practical situations by helping them interpret often contradictory or difficult-to-understand laws, under the umbrella of multiculturalism. Promotion of the booklet has already begun; several packages have been handed over to leaders of civil society organizations and representatives of educational institutions to distribute within their communities. Additionally, distribution at events will also commence. The booklet is available in digital format on the foundation’s website: https://identitasalapitvany.ro/nyelvikisokos/
The project is implemented with the support of the European Union under the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Program 2021–2027.
