Kick-off meeting of project BusinessBridge: Business cooperation for the development of cross-border regions

On the 1st of February 2025, an international project BusinessBridge: Business cooperation for the development of cross-border regions has officially started.The project is aimed at developing economic cooperation between the border regions of Ukraine, Hungary and Romania. The initiative is supported by the European Union under the Interreg VI-A NEXT Hungary-Slovakia-Romania-Ukraine Programme.

What is BusinessBridge?

The project is aimed at expanding economic relations, attracting investments and creating favourable conditions for the development of entrepreneurship in the border regions. It will improve access to consultations and open up new opportunities for business cooperation, which will help attract financial resources for the development of the economies of the project partners’ regions.

Key project activities:

  • Educational trainings and seminars for business support organisations to help improve their knowledge and implement modern investment attraction tools.
  • Development of a digital platform for the exchange of economic information that will provide access to up-to-date market research, financial mechanisms and international cooperation opportunities.
  • Organisation of a cross-border investment forum and investment tours that will facilitate the establishment of new partnerships between business communities from different countries.
  • Analysis of the economic situation in the project partners’ regions and identification of key areas for business development and investment attraction.

Expected results:

The project will contribute to the development of cross-border cooperation, improve business opportunities and create conditions for long-term economic relations in the border regions.

The BusinessBridge project will open new opportunities for entrepreneurs, help expand the network of business partnerships and attract additional resources for the economic development of the border regions of Ukraine, Hungary and Romania.

Project partners:

  • Ukraine: Institution “Zakarpattia Regional Development Agency”, Regional development agency of Ivano-Frankivsk region;
  • Romania: Development Centre for Small and Medium Sized Enterprise Maramureș (CDIMM Maramureș);
  • Hungary: Tisza European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation Limited Liability (Tisza EGTC).
